About Us
David & Susan Adkins owned Essentials Massage Therapy in Roanoke from 2000-2022. After taking a break to live near the ocean in Virginia Beach for a few years, we were excited to move back to our beloved hometown of Roanoke in June 2025 to open Cat Mandu Ancient Healing Arts.
David is a 1999 Graduate of Daniels Institute of Massage. He is an experienced Tsubo Shiatsu Practitioner who has helped many clients improve their health & quality of life.
Susan is a 2000 graduate of Virginia School of Massage and a 2017 graduate of the Love & Light School of Crystal Therapy. She is a Board-Certified Massage Therapist and a Certified Crystal Healer. Her modalities include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Dynamic Cupping, Hot Stone & Himalayan Salt Stone Massages.
David & Susan are both available for appointments on Tuesday-Saturday.
